Three halls inside the abbey, which can accommodate
up to
100 people (
150
in summer, when the terrace in the courtyard is
open), a genuine cooking and the great experience
of our tradition in Lunigiana are the strong points
of the restaurant of Montagna Verde and Borgo
Antico.
From the starters you can immediately realize
our very good cooking, with delicious toasts with
mushrooms, polenta with lard and the typical pies
with vegetable and potato stuffing prepared in
Lunigiana.
All pasta of our first courses is homemade and
of course you cannot miss our ravioli with wild
boar stuffing, tagliatelle with mushrooms, pappardelle
with wild boar or roe deer sauce and crespelle
with mushrooms, but in particular our
pappardelle
with deer stuffing or
tortelloni
with ricotta and boragine, which are
something completely different and have a really
unique taste.
Also our second courses attract several gourmets
coming periodically to us to taste here what is
difficult to find somewhere else, such as
game,
roast
lamb (fried or baked),
porchetta, stewed
wild
boar with potatoes,
roe deer
with sauce or boiled roe deer, baked chicken and,
the most delicious dish, our
small
roe deer steak.
And as dessert our sweet focaccia with raisins
and pine-seeds and the apple pie, because also
our cakes are all homemade.
And just another interesting note: wild boar,
roe deer, deer, cattle and poultry are all bred
either in the farm or in the reserve of the agritourist
farm.
